How to get to EBT

You'll find us right on the Canada street entrance to Te Ara i Whiti, aka 'the pink path'

Nau mai haere mai!

Directions to EBT

By Bike

We are right on entrance to the pink cycle path (Light Path/Te Ara i Whiti and easily accessible by the North Western Cycleway, Ian Mackinnon, Nelson Street, Karangahape road and Grafton Gully Cycleways. You are encouraged to bring your bicycle inside the shop for its security and also to check that any accessories or enquiries relating to your e-bike are as accurate and fun as possible!

On Foot

We are 100 metres off K Road. Which part of K Road? The corner of East street, 200m West of St Kevin’s Arcade and Lim Churr supermarket. A great walk that connects Karangahape Rd to mid town and the waterfront is via Myers Park, accessible via steps through St Kevin's arcade.

By Bus

Karangahape Road is on major bus routes including WX1 and the Inner Link from the waterfront. There are buses every few minutes from Newmarket to Karangahape Road

By Train

The closest stations are Grafton (1.8km walk, flat) or Britomart (2.2km walk uphill or take the red bus to us) or Newmarket (2.7km flat walk). When the City rail link completes in 2026, Karanga-a-Hape station will be right outside of our shop (Mercury Lane exit). We often have customers visit us on the bike accessible Te Huia train from the Waikato.

By Car

While we are right next to the central motorway junction, it's best to use your GPS as it’s not so obvious which exit you should use. We recommend you always approach from the South via Canada Street (off Upper Queen), even if you are driving to us from the North Shore. There is metered parking on Canada Street. If you see a spot, take it and then walk 2 minutes to the shop. If none available, continue onto East St and turn left onto South Street, where our front door is. Although there is usually a park available on South Street, once you get to South Street, you cannot turn back to Canada Street (East Street is one-way), so if there's nothing on South Street, you have to turn left up East Street and try your luck on Galatos Street. If no luck there, it's left onto Karangahape Road (no right turn) to find somewhere else or to do the loop via Newtown Rd and Upper Queen Street back to us again.

Another option instead of or after trying the above is to head straight to the Wilsons Car Park on Cross Street, accessed via Upper Queen Street. However, at time of writing, there is usually a park on South Street, so not many customers are using the Wilsons car park. This may change over time as the area gets busier.

From out of town

We are humbled by the number of people who travel a distance to visit us. Whether by bus, car or train, if you're coming a ways to see us, please let us know ahead and we'll make sure we're extra ready for you! If it's for a workshop visit, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule for your Auckland visit.

Please see more information here about how we help our out of town customers.

From the airport

The best option is public transport, using the airport bus to Puhinui Station from where you take the Southern line train to us. The time taken is a little longer than a taxi but much cheaper and better for the city. There's no need to book ahead and you can just tap any credit card to get on. The frequency is 10-20 minutes depending on time of day.

However, if you have a bike with you, the bus leg won't take your bike (probably would if it was still in a box). If your bike is assembled, you can ride to Puhinui Station, which is a 20 minute, flat ride on a separated cycleway.

The ride all the way from the airport to town takes a couple hours and and while it's not signposted (studying/downloading GPS routes beforehand is recommended), it's safer and more pleasant than most would guess.

There is a private bus operator called Skydrive that runs every half hour between the airport and SkyCity (the tower) in central Auckland for $20 per passenger. Bikes in boxes/bags are permitted "subject to space availability". It's a 1.5km from Sky City to EBT and is all on separated cycleways.

Karanga-a-hape train station

EBT is right on the doorstep of the new City Rail Link train station - a pedestrian crossing in front of our shop leads to the Mercury Lane entrance of Karanga-a-hape station. Bikes are welcome on the trains, which begin service in 2026!
